Human Resources Generalist


    Position Title:      Human Resources Generalist​

    Organization: is looking for an Human Resources Generalist to join its team as the organization continues to expand into a long-term, multi-issue organization.  The Human Resources Generalist will be based in Washington, D.C. and will report to the Director of Human Resources. 
    The ideal candidate is a self-starter that; can manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; likes working in a solutions-oriented, fast-paced campaign-like environment; and welcomes operating in a bipartisan framework that values working with those directly impacted and non-traditional allies to achieve public policy victories.
    You have:
    ● 3-5 years of experience working in payroll and human resources
    ● Experience with small business benefit plans for 50-100 employees
    ● Experience with explaining benefits to employees
    ● Strong working knowledge of HR best practices
    ● A strong attention to detail and organization
    ● Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively across cultures, geographies/time zones, and programs using all communication platforms
    ● Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a wide range of internal and external audiences
    ● High standards of confidentiality, sound judgment, discretion and diplomacy. 
    ● Strong planning, organizational, problem solving, project management, and time management skills
    ● Experience supporting the implementation of an HRIS systems is a plus
    ● Experience working in an organization with employees in multiple states is a plus
    ● Proficiency with Google suites
    You will:
    Human Resources
    ● Supports all human resource functions of the organization
    ● Manages benefits and leave administration, open enrollment, communication, approving invoices for payment, and annual reevaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
    ● Conducts and updates orientation, maintains and updates HR records, documents standard operating procedures, (SOPS) ensures compliance, and timely reporting with federal and state regulations.
    ● Supports the development of new HR and wellness initiatives
    ● Manages the organization’s professional development program
    ● Supports the operational side of recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding, including employee trainings
    ● Supports the maintenance of the current HRIS system, Zenefits, and other HR information
    ● Supports the implementation of a new HRIS system
    ● Works with benefits vendors to ensure accuracy
    General duties
    ● Provides administrative support to the Director of Human Resources, as needed
    ● Work directly with the Operations Team to coordinate and implement the operational needs of the department
    ● Supports annual worker’s compensation audit and the HR aspects of the organization’s annual financial statement audits
    ● Other duties as assigned
