I-9 and E-Verify Compliance - Update and Overview

Many employers are starting to return to the office while others have decided to continue to work virtually which has brought on 'many questions' on completing the I-9.

Join us for this important presentation by Dave Basham from the Department of Homeland Security. In this session Dave will cover (in detail) the temporary policy changes, to Form I-9 and E-Verify, due to COVID.

Using many examples, this presentation will ensure that you have a clear understanding of the current policies and how to apply them to your employment eligibility verification program.

Dave Basham - U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service
Dave joined U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in 2008 following his retirement from the U.S. Army. He has conducted close to 700 Form I-9 and E-Verify presentations to nationwide audiences including elected officials, immigration attorneys, compliance personnel to human resources, and payroll professionals. In 2016, the American Payroll Association presented Dave with their annual Government Partner Award in recognition of his service, as a government agent, to the payroll community nationwide. In 2014, the AR Society of Human Resources Management awarded Dave with their annual Friend of HR award for his work with their members regarding Form I-9 and E-Verify. Dave’s military assignments were numerous in the Infantry arena. His military service decorations include the Legion of Merit. Dave’s originally from West Virginia but now makes his home in historic Virginia.
