    FMLA: 25 Years Later

The federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was enacted in 1993. While it has been in existence for 25 years now, its administration is still complex for employers. It has only become more difficult with the addition of state and city leave laws. We will discuss the interaction between federal and state, as well as interaction with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA). Lastly, we will examine how recent case law and the recently enacted tax credit related to paid leave will change the employment leave landscape
