We're excited to welcome guest speakers Katherine McCary founded C5 Consulting, LLC, a certified woman owned and disability owned and operated consulting and training firm, in May 2011 after 22 years at SunTrust Bank, Inc., and Sue Weber who joined C5 Consulting in 2014 as Senior Director. Previously in her career, Sue served as the Sr. Director, EEO/AA and HR Compliance with Marriott International, Inc. until her retirement in 2013.

    About the Program:

Since March 2014, federal contractors have been diligently working to meet the new OFCCP requirements of Section 503. While ATS, HRIS and self-disclosure documentation has been top of mind, a major concern is how best to get traction towards the 7% hiring goals. What strategies do employers need to be successful in their journey to create a disability confident workplace?

This session will provide guidelines to developing strategies for disability inclusion and include:

    • Basic Disability Etiquette and Language

    • Address Myths and Fears of HR and Hiring Managers

    • Straight Talk about the Disability Community

    • Robust Community Engagement and Talent Pipelines

    • Accessibility and Accommodations

    • Leveraging Internal Champions

    About the Speaker:

Katherine was the founding chair of the US Business Leadership Network (USBLN®) and the Virginia BLN, and has been instrumental in assisting other affiliates around the country in start up and sustainability. She was appointed by President Bush and confirmed by the US Senate in 2008 to serve on the National Council on Disability. She now serves on the HSC Foundation National Youth Transition Center Leadership Council and the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind Advisory Board.
