Most of us are familiar with absenteeism – employees missing work.  This talk addresses both absenteeism and presenteeism, employees that are physically at work, but spending their time on tasks other than work, both resulting in lost productivity.  One of the major causes of absenteeism and presenteeism is the need for care of an aging parent or loved one.  Frequently, as our parents and loved ones age, they require support on a daily basis in order to survive and thrive.  This additional support is usually provided by an adult child or relative.  Our talk will:

    • Illustrate the prevalence of absenteeism and presenteeism
    • Discuss solutions that will allow employees to remain productive at work
    • Describe options available to pay for assistance in caring for aging loved ones.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Review the prevalence of absenteeism and presenteeism
    • Understand options available to gain help and support in order to help employees stay productive at work
    • Gain an elemental understanding of how long term care insurance works
