Enhancing Your Service Delivery:  Developing Strategies for Workforce Engagement

Workforce engagement is an ongoing process to recruit, retrain, reward and retain productive and effective employees by enhancing understanding of organizational practices and employee  priorities, attitudes, behaviors and intentions.  In fact, it touches nearly every aspect of the human resources spectrum including:  training, total rewards & recognition, selection & placement, work-life balance, and performance management.  Essentially, there is a strategic importance of delivering exceptional service from the perspective of your customers (both internal and external).  If companies do not have engaged employees, then the employees are not inclined to work well with one another or go the extra mile for the paying customer.

Objectives for the program include the participants being able to discuss and synthesize the following:

    • How the 4 R’s (recruit, retrain, and reward, and retain) relate to workforce engagement
    • Why it is important to be passionate about what you do and how this relates to the Gallup Workforce Engagement Survey
    • How accountability is vital but missing in many of today’s workers
    • Why there is a sense that companies should fix everything when in fact fixing a culture starts with the individual employees
    • How creating a positive environment becomes a contagious effect that can permeate an organization, reduce worker complaints, and increase productivity

    Session II

    Speaker : Michael Johnson, Esq.

    Investigating Employee Misconduct

In this interactive seminar, you will learn practical skills for investigating allegations of employee misconduct.  Among other things, you will learn the answers to the following questions:

    • How do I strategically investigate "he said/she said" allegations where there are no eyewitnesses?
    • What techniques and questioning strategies can I use to detect deception and truthfulness? (You will watch a video of a suspect being interviewed and look for signs of deception or truthfulness.)
    • How can I use the “Funnel Method” to ensure I gather all the relevant information from each witness?
    • What are the rules for searching an employee's workspace, computer, or personal belongings?
    • Are there restrictions on my ability to discipline employees for discussing the investigation with others?
    • How much detail about witnesses' statements should I give the accused?
    • How do I determine the appropriate level of discipline, if any?
    • What if I mistakenly discipline an innocent person?
