In recent years, and, it is expected, continuing with the regulatory changes scheduled to take effect by the time of this presentation, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) appears to be the leader with regard to establishment of statistical standards.   The interests of the corporate community are in the hands of the Human Resources and legal professionals.   As a result it is essential that you have at your disposal the tools necessary to not only implement the government regulations, but also to protect your employers’ rights and interests.

We are excited to have Dr. Charles R. Mann, President of Charles R. Mann Associates, Inc.  share with us how to Protect Your Employer when Responding to OFCCP Statistical Demands.

    In this session, you will:

    • Obtain a better understanding of statistical procedures available to you to properly represent their employers’ interests in dealing with regulations and litigation.
    • Be better able to protect your company against misleading, improper or irrelevant statistical inferences.

    Topics include:

    • Procedures used by the OFCCP traditionally, in their recent increased activities, and under the planned new regulations. These include:
    • Analysis of underutilization
    • adverse impact
    • compensation
    • layoffs/RIFs
    • Explanation of common and important statistical terms
    • The nature of statistical reasoning
    • Basic concepts of probability and inference

Dr. Mann specializes in the application of statistics to legal matters in general with a concentration on the area of equal opportunity analysis. He provides expert witness services and statistical guidance in connection with a wide range of litigation. Dr. Mann also designs and develops Affirmative Action Plans, Utilization Analyses, Adverse Impact Analyses and Work Force Analyses for large and small corporations as well as for municipal governments and Federal agencies.

Dr. Mann has received recognition for his innovative work applying statistics to legal and human resource issues as well as for the development of a statistical code of ethics.  Dr. Mann is an elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Washington Academy of Sciences.
